This past weekend my camera was at my side the entire time (except once on a boat ride where I completely missed a gorgeous sunset, and regretted it the rest of the weekend) and I noticed every bit of magic. Rodrick Lake which I have already written a shot entry about is magic. It is this secluded lake in Northern Ontario and the road to it is pretty much non-existent. My best friend Maddy and her family own 1 of 3 cottages on the entire lake and every time I get the opportunity I visit.
Below is a shot of the party barge, a floating dock that Paul built and Deb decorated (Maddy's Parents) Not only is it great for cruising around on during the day stopping off at the neighbouring cottages for a cold drink but it also doubles as a bedroom! We slept in the middle of the lake for two nights (one in the pouring rain) and it may have been the best sleep I have ever had.

The shots below are completely inspired by Diane Varner she was one of the first photographers I was actually floored by. I spent hours going through her website staring at each shot and then trying to teach some myself some of her photoshop techniques that she has posted. Though I love photos that tell a story I think that nature and wildlife photography will always hold a special for me.
